Understanding human behaviour and wellbeing.

The Faculty of Psychology at the University of Goma explores human behaviour, mental health and the psychological dimensions of individual and community life. It prepares students to support people across diverse social and cultural contexts in the DRC.

Given the particular challenges of the Great Lakes region, the faculty places special emphasis on trauma, resilience, community support and mental health promotion.

General Psychology

Study the foundations of human behaviour, cognition, emotion, development and personality.

Clinical Psychology

Learn assessment, counselling and therapeutic approaches for supporting individuals with mental health challenges.

Community Psychology

Explore psychological approaches to community wellbeing, social support and collective resilience.

Trauma & Resilience

Develop skills for working with individuals and communities affected by conflict, displacement and adversity.

Research Methods

Apply psychological research methods to study behaviour, wellbeing and social issues in the Congolese context.

Career Opportunities

Graduates work in hospitals, schools, NGOs, humanitarian organisations, social services and community health programmes.
