Welcome to the Faculty

Advancing sustainable agriculture and the environment.

The Faculty of Agronomic and Environmental Sciences at the University of Goma prepares students to address the challenges of food security, sustainable agriculture and environmental protection in the DRC and the Great Lakes region.

The faculty is actively engaged in community outreach, including the Ecological Brigade which supports urban agriculture and ecological initiatives around Goma.

Academic Programme

What You Will Study

Our curriculum integrates theory and field practice across six core disciplines, preparing graduates for careers in agriculture, research, policy and environmental management.

Crop Science

Study plant biology, soil science, crop production and the management of agricultural systems for food security.

Animal Science

Learn about livestock management, veterinary principles and animal production for rural and peri-urban communities.

Environmental Science

Explore ecology, conservation, natural resource management and the environmental challenges facing the DRC.

Ecological Brigade

UNIGOM students participate in community environmental initiatives, including urban agriculture projects around Lac Vert in Goma.

Faculty researchers study pest management, soil fertility, climate adaptation and sustainable food systems in the region.
